About Glamour, Inc. presents Noriko Tatsumi, a sculptor from Japan, at its gallery from December 19, 2003 to January 19,2004. It must be noted that the artist exclusively creates artwork for this exhibition, titled,"Here comes a fluffy!" which is guaranteed to bring a relaxing moment and a smile by Fluffy to each viewer during busy holiday season.

The artist, Noriko Tatsumi, was born in Chiba, Japan and studied at the notable art university, Tokyo Gakugei University in Japan. After receiving her BFA, she pursued her art in Tokyo Gakugei Graduate School, and completed her MFA. She came to N.Y. in September of 2003, and has added greater depth to her style.

"I want my art to be like a hot spring", the artist states. Many people in Japan enjoy bathing in natural hot spring. They are healed, refreshed and relaxed by nature. Tatsumi further explains, "I think people should recognize the nature that surrounds us - we are part of this planet's as well".

Her human shaped sculpture also shows her Japanese background; they are monks. She comments that people refresh their mind by statues of Buddha. What's really interesting is the combination of her Japanese background and the swirl of western influence in her (and in many Japanese people). One of her new artwork is also shaped as a monk, but wrapped in green yarn with red and gold pompons and a shining star is placed on top of the monkﾕs head -cute twist of a monk and Christmas. People may think that these two themes are too far apart from each other; however, one can easily imagine that the combination of the calmness of a monk and the warmth that Christmas brings to people's minds can make viewers extremely comfortable. We are certain that people who visit the exhibition will go home filled with warm feelings inside and cheerful smiles on their faces.
